Emily is a musician currently completing her final year in the Singer-Songwriter stream of Carleton University's Bachelor of Music degree program. Emily has been singing in choirs for twelve years and is trained in both classical and jazz voice. She has performed at Westfest for the past three years and is one of the finalists performing at the MusikOttawa 2016 singer-songwriter showcase in November.
Fully bilingual since she was a child, Emily provides instruction in either English or French. She teaches voice, music theory, beginner acoustic guitar and beginner piano, covering a wide range of musical skills including ear training, sight-reading, theory and song writing.
Emily's musical influences span a number of genres, including folk, pop, blues, country and jazz. She believes that learning how to play a musical instrument - including your voice - is a great way to have fun, develop your creative potential, and express emotions that you might not be able to express in words.
