Originally from Barry’s Bay, Ontario, Thomas is a bilingual musician, studying and working in Ottawa for the past couple years. He is entering his third year in Carleton University’s Bachelor of Music Program, where he studies classical piano under Cecile Desrosiers.
He is passionate about sharing his love of music with students of all ages and abilities. Thomas values incorporating music theory and history into lessons in order to help students understand music and in turn, play an appropriate interpretation. Away from a piano-teaching capacity, Thomas also enjoys leading and arranging music for his church choir, coaching soccer and teaching swimming.
Thomas has won the Piano Award of Excellence at the North Hasting Music Festival in both 2018 and 2022.
When not playing piano, or teaching, Thomas enjoys chess and long distance running.
